Tal Barahi Temple

Tal Barahi Temple is a two-storey pagoda temple situated on a small island on Phewa Lake in Pokhara, also known as Lake Temple or Varahi Temple. Dedicated to Goddess Varahi who is Goddess Durga’s incarnation, both Hindu and Buddhist followers come here for worship. The main shrine collection features typical pagoda-type architecture, mostly made of wood, bricks and stone, and has a premise that is wide enough to accommodate many devotees. It’s believed King Kulmandhan Shah founded the temple because of a dream he had. There are also nice seats on the premise where one can relax for a moment or two before going back to town. While visiting the Phewa Lake it is strongly recommended to sail to the island and explore the temple.
