An Iconic Trail Everyone Wants to Trek

One of India’s most well-known treks in the Himalayas is the Valley of Flowers trek. Many people have heard of the Valley of Flowers walking even if they have never set foot in the Himalayas. One of India’s oldest known treks, Valley of Flowers, has a good cause for its illustrious fame. The Valley of Flowers National Park was established by the Indian government in 1980, and in 2002 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This elevated Valley of Flowers is on trekkers’ wish lists from all over the world. However, you should know that the Valley of Flowers trek is complex. A steep ascent to Hemkund Sahib and somewhat longer trekking days make this a moderately difficult trip that will test your stamina.

A Quick Look at Flowers

The Valley of Flowers trek is famous worldwide for its floral displays. You are enticed to continue on a little walkway through the flowerbeds. Various blooms are beginning to appear in addition to colours, sizes, shapes, textures, and fragrances. You can find a new type of flower after just a few tens of steps. You ponder how they ended up here. What caused the shift in variety? Observing how the large animals changed as the plants did was intriguing. You’ll try to blend in with and become a part of the abundance of flowers in the valley by standing by them, sitting next to them, and lying down on the narrow, exposed route. Smells that you had never experienced before were carried by the chilly mountain wind that came from the glacier end of the valley.

Hemkund Sahib and the ascent

A modest stroll through the trek to Valley of Flowers prepares you for the ascent to Hemkund. Nearly 4,000 feet are gained in 6 kilometres. Along with presenting a fresh obstacle, this leads you unexpectedly to a beautiful area. While ascending to Hemkund, you will enjoy entering the alpine region. While ascending, you nearly glimpse Ghangaria and the Valley of Flowers from a drone or a helicopter. You may view your starting point and your previous day’s travels. Even landscape scenery is more understandable when viewed from above.

You encounter various things when you ascend sharply, leaving the tree line, entering the alpine meadows, noticing how thin the air is, and gazing up at the pristine mountain rocks. When you get to Hemkund Sahib, the stillness of the lake and the mountains in the distance astound you. You reflect on your entire voyage with thankfulness as you gaze at the gorgeous lake, which reflects its surroundings, including the mountains and the Gurudwara. It serves as a time of peaceful reflection for many people in their whole lives.

The cultural encounter

The Valley of Flowers trek isn’t merely a walk. It will demonstrate an amazing human faith journey and a trip to the lovely valley. On this magnificent ascent to the lake at 14,001 feet, you will pass by young people in their middle years, people in their 80s, children, and toddlers. However, quite a few use their strength to climb, while others use horses or porters to help them. It would be nice to see volunteers maintaining the trail’s cleanliness by sweeping each piece individually and putting in icy hours at the Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara. Trekking up at Ghangaria to the Sikh Gurudwara march calls at dawn would be a beautiful experience. You’ll be introduced to a world you might not otherwise see on the trek.
