Akshardham Temple

Akshardham Temple in Jaipur, Rajasthan, also known as the Swaminarayan Temple, is dedicated to Lord Narayan or Lord Vishnu and is renowned for its beautiful architecture and cultural heritage. Although the building is fairly new, what draws visitors and devotees to this place is the gardens and the views. It provides a glimpse into the Hindu culture and its regional growth. The complex houses a majestic temple surrounded by landscaped well tended gardens. Located in Jaipur city centre, Akshardham Temple is one of the region’s most famous and holiest places.

Akshardham Temple is one of nine temples that were built in some major Indian cities. These temples were constructed under the Sanstha, Swaminarayan Sampraday which was founded by Ramanand Swami in the early 20th century by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan. The Akshardham Temple in Jaipur is dedicated to Lord Vishnu while the other temples are dedicated to other Hindu gods but all the temples in the respective areas are known as the Akshardham Temple, Swaminarayan Temple, or Swaminarayan Akshardham.
