Jang Dog Palriffo Brang Gompa

About five kilometers south of the town center is this monastery or Gumpha. It lies at the end of the hill. Built at Durpin Dara Hill in the mid-1970s, this monastery was consecrated by the Dalai Lama. Nobel prizewinner Dalai Lama brought 108 Kangyur volumes from Tibet. As usual it has impressive wall paintings in the prayer room and a rare three-dimensional mandala, just like other Gumphas. This place’s scenic beauty is beautiful with the Himalayan view, and is still better from Durpin Dara Hill. Guests can walk or drive through it for free.
