Jakhu-Temple

Jakhu Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to the Hindu god Hanuman, at a distance of 7 km from Shimla Railway Station and 7 km from Shimla Old Bus Stand. It is located on Jakhu Hill and is one of Shimla’s prime locations to visit. It is situated at 2455 m altitude, and is also Shimla’s highest point. This temple is a dream for all nature lovers and tourists who come to the Kakhu Temple to visit the iconic 108-foot-tall Hanuman Statue. It is nearly a short trek for adventure seekers that makes it one of the best places to visit in February in Shimla.

There are many monkeys around the temple, but they are surprisingly not threatening people. Pilgrims give them eatables that they readily take. A 2.5 km footpath with long sections of steps leads the road to the temple. Ponies are available in the temple for ride. A lovely park is now developed near Jakhu’s main Temple. This visiting time for the temple is 8 am to 6 pm.
