Khanqah of Shah Hamadan

Khanqah of Shah Hamadan is located at banks of the River Jhelum, it’s the primary mosque ever inbuilt Srinagar. The Shah Hamadan whose full name was Mir Sayed Ali Hamadni built the first mosque in 1395. Shah-i-Hamdan came from Persia within the 13th century and was liable for the spread of Islam in Kashmir. Khanqah-i-Mualla was the place where he want to offer prayers. The Khanqah may be a wooden structure whose chief aesthetic feature is its beautifully carved eaves and hanging bells. The interiors are richly carved and painted, and therefore the antique chandeliers provide it an air of magnificence.
